CRND scam emails - August / November 2009

The DMO has received reports of fraudulent emails being sent to recipients claiming to originate from Jo Whelan, Robert Stheeman or the Commissioners for the Reduction of the National Debt. The e-mail states that a National Debt Management Office has been established to oversee all financial transactions and informs the recipient their transfer is currently under investigation. The recipient is requested to contact the addressee directly to resolve the matter.

The DMO (CRND and PWLB) do not send out emails of this nature. If you have received a suspicious email do not reply to it. You may forward the email to us at PressOfficer@dmo.gsi.gov.uk.
